Celebrating Cultures at Ormiston: A Pop-Up Full of Heart
For two wonderful weeks, Ormiston Town Centre became a space of shared stories, smiles, and celebration. The Celebrating Cultures Pop-Up, in partnership with Te Tuhi and The Howick Local Board, brought together people from all walks of life to connect through creativity, culture, and conversation.
Visitors explored traditional arts, learned new languages, tried hands-on crafts, and enjoyed powerful performances. Families came together, children got curious, and cultures found common ground.
“This is how my child learns about different cultures – out in the real world,”
shared one parent.
“It helps cross-cultural divides and builds understanding in such a fun way,”
said another attendee.
Events like this remind us how important it is to make space for every story, every tradition, and every voice.
