Looking for something to keep the kids entertained these school holidays? Flat Bush Library has a fantastic lineup of free Matariki-inspired activities for tamariki of all ages, right here at Ormiston Town Centre.
From hands-on crafts and Māori games to storytelling, robotics and creative workshops, there’s something happening throughout the holidays. Whether you’re popping in for one activity or making a day of it, it’s a great way to celebrate Matariki with the whole whānau.

Matariki Family Fun Day

Bring the whole whānau along for a morning of arts and crafts, Māori games, creative workshops and kai as we celebrate the meaning of Matariki together in a fun and welcoming environment.
Matariki School Holiday Programme
From 4–19 July, the library will be hosting a variety of interactive experiences designed to spark creativity, encourage learning and bring the community together. Families can enjoy everything from poi making, weaving, to robotic workshops and escape rooms.
